2011 World Telekinesis Competition

Team Profiles

London United Psychic Club

London United Psychic Club was founded in 1982 by a group of amateur mentalists and psychics who met as employees of a pet grooming salon in West London. Despite the infamous "sandal scandal" that erupted over their championship victory in the 1990 Telekinetic Games in New Delhi, they went on to become one of the strongest teams on the para-normal athletics circuit. They are particularly noted for their development and use of the plasmamorphic resonance technique in competition, despite charges that this gives them an unfair advantage by some of their opponents. This year they have had an unusually strong showing, especially in meta-biological events.

Christian Kuras: Christian Kuras was a mentalist, perceptionist and diviner, specialising in counter-parapsychology. He was part of a research team that invented a device for the detection of non-terran psychic energy on behalf of the British government in 2007. He never fully escaped the allegations that this was a fraud, and the subsequent controversy dogged him for the rest of his life. Christian Kuras died in the early part of 2011 when he choked on a piece of pineapple while trying to rescue his neighbour's terrier from a tree.

Emily Heath: Emily Heath is a professor of occult mathematics. She is renowned in academic circles as an expert in theories of mathesis, which centre on accessing the true reality without the intervention of the human mind by the use of an elaborate system of mathematical correspondence. She is also an expert on possession, and holds the record for the largest mass exorcism in Asia.

Ben Tanner: Mr. Ben Tanner is a hermaphroditic prestidigitator, and a devotee of several metaphysical disciplines. He has documents that prove he is currently 381 years old. In the past year he has become one of the most valued competitors in the LUPC, having scored a solid 35 wins out of 37 events in his last 12 psycho-athletic tournaments. Despite his need to hibernate for three days each week, he requires no sleep the rest of the time and spends many hours training his skills, particularly in pyromanipulation. He is the team's star player in the 2011 WTC.
