What is it like to be a bat?

Cindy Ruiz-Guzman

Q: When you think of bats, what first comes to your mind?

Something that's very interesting to me is the fact that bats sleep upside down. Unlike humans. Does their blood not go down to their heads?

Q: You just spent a period of time imagining what it is like to be a bat. What did you imagine?

I imagined what it would be to be a bat for a day from beginning to end. I woke up upside down, then started to create "sound" to be able to start flying and move around with other bats, of course. It was dark outside and I started to look for food, in my case fruit and made sure there wasn’t any other big animals hoping to eat me. Then I just imagined being a bat from the movie Hotel Transilvania, which was really fun too!

Q: During the time you were imagining, were you somewhere?

At first, just in a cold humid cave, but when imagining being a bat from Hotel Transilvania, I imagined being in a castle type of place.
